okay. first things first. you see Hanhao's long speech made at the tagbox beside. it kinda makes sense. just to add something to that.

you can say that our section is pretty much bonded and absolute fun. that's one thing. its the start of a new year. So lets raise our standards higher this coming year and raise hcico cellobass' standard. We should all know what we need to work on for our playing.

No one is perfect in their playing. Really do hope that during Pan Lao Shi's lessons, take his criticisms for pointers and show some improvement for each lesson. He deserves to see it. Cos i dont see any point when every week he comes, if he listens to the same standard all the time, 1. we're not learning 2. we're wasting our money 3. we're wasting our time and his time.

So please, humble yourselves and listen. its just really up to you. whether you wanna make the time in CB worthwhile or just a complete waste of your time. Your choice.

So i want to make clear this once and for all and that we are here, not just to fulfil the attendance requirement. Why not take the opportunity, learn a skill. and not be a total loser to ourselves.

We wanna set good examples for the new batch of sec ones. not make them hate CO cos of pan lao shi or chen lao shi. work it out.

Okay now for the updates

1. As we all know (or some dno ) erm HANHAO organised for CO de chalet is on 4th Jan 2010 its on www.hcico.blogspot.com go check it out. just for the lazy ppl i shall post the message word for word here:

Okay, the chalet had been booked! Yay! Anyway the details are as follow:

Date: 4th January 2010- 5th January 2010( 2 Day 1 Night )
Venue: Gold Kist Resort ( In east coast park Area D, Near bbq pit 42)
Time: Check-in time is around 3.30 p.m
Dress code: None! Wear whatever you want =)
dun pay attn to this^ wear something.

Packing list:
- PE T-shirt( we are going CO after chalet =D)
- Instruments + Scores
- Toiletries
- Plastic Bags
- Swimming Trunks( if you are going swimming)
- $10 ( any additional amount if you are going to eat at McDonald/ KFC/ BK)
- Sleeping Bag
- Extra Clothings( Pajamas, undergarments, socks( above ankle!!) etc to last for 2 days)
- Medication ( If necessary)
- Snacks / Drinks ( Pot Luck)
- Ez-Link Card

Dinner for 4th January 2010 and breakfast for 5th January 2010 will be provided. Please note that this chalet+ Sec 4 Farewell is organised by the Executive Committee and both Exco and HCICO will not be responsible for any injuries or lost items. Try not to bring expensive items unless it is a necessity. We will be going straight to CO after the chalet so make sure that you bring along your Ez-Link Card. Thanks =)

HCCO interaction actually put not responsible for "deaths".... hmm gets one thinking bout what we're gonna actually do. So here at the chalet, you cant expect zero injuries but NO DEATHS :D (Lucas is not to be held responsible for saying this)

2. Okay this Tues all CB members please come at 2 for make up lesson from Pan lao shi. and we may want to like ask him what song is good for sec 1 intake when the sec 1s come to each section to check us out.

Hey CBs!

How's your holidays?

Just some updates and all.
thought i would just post it up here as a form of reminder.

1. There's no practice today( a lil the late ) up till next Tues which is the 8 of December. reason being, read the emb. But there doesnt seem to be a message there. So just dont come.

Practice resumes on the following Friday which is 11th December.
Except for Joshua who would be in Beijing, all others are to come.

(Josh: remember to write a parents letter for Guan Chye.)

2. Benjamin our beloved SL will be leaving for BSC on the 7 of December all the way till 15 Jan '10.
Therefore from 7th of Dec onwards please tell me if you cant make if for practice or something with a valid reason.

Do send him an sms or smth to wish him a safe flight. we want him back in one piece.

3. Sec 1 intake is coming soon. for our section please think of an item to perform for the sec 1s to AMAZE, WOW, and totally ASTOUND them with whatever we have. :DD

4. Last thing, hope everyone has each other's contact so in case anyone is missing we can just inform that dude immediately without any sentences such as "I dont have his number" so i'll be sending the Cello contacts to everyone in the section. Javier please do the same for the bass.

For the SNCO concert, may i suggest that we do not use GMC as our Cello ensemble piece.

The musical interpretation and skills required, we're not there yet to put it frankly.
Secondly, it's not just notes. Thirdly, we must also consider the whole SNCO+HCICO CB section. We are there on stage to showcase our precision, not demonstrate our flaws.
Also, This concert, we should all be in it together. I don't wish to see a scenario whereby someone is left out while everyone is enjoying on stage,
same on SN's side. We should get EVERYONE if possible to be involved and not play a piece because we feel we should , and at the expense of other's experience or opportunity.

So hope this point would be taken into consideration. RV 531 is not as easy piece.
